Who is Malala? Should she have won the Nobel Peace Prize?
Malala is the Pakistani girl who publicly campaigned in the SWAT valley for girls' education despite death threats from the Taliban. When they caught up with her, they shot her in the head. Now recovered after medical treatment in England, she is continuing her campaign.
The Nobel Peace Prize this year was given instead to the Organization for the Prevention of Chemicals which is just now beginning the process of securing and destroying Syria's chemical weapons as part of the UN agreement that postponed U.S. military intervention.
